Berkshire Waldorf High School students spent the last 6 weeks absorbed in rehearsals for Much Ado About Nothing, their inaugural production as part of a new collaboration with Shakespeare & Company established this year at the high school. About two-thirds of Berkshire Waldorf High School’s 45 students chose to participate in this elective class, which culminated in the play’s presentation over Valentine’s Day weekend.
Beth Robbins, Berkshire Waldorf High School’s English and Drama teacher, and Shakespeare & Company director Lezlie Lee collaborated to create this production. Ruby Lamond, BWHS freshman, who plays Hero in this production of Much Ado About Nothing, said, “Working with Shakespeare & Co. has helped me harness the dramatic side of my personality and use it for good. Watching my schoolmates bring this play to life makes every bit of work worth it. I’m honored that the company has come to work with our school, and I hope that the program will continue until the end of time.”
