Our Children, Our Technology, Our Future Lecture by Dr. Stephen Sagarin

Faculty Chair, Stephen Sagarin, will speak at the Great Barrington Rudolf Steiner School on “Our Children, Our Technology, Our Future” on Thursday evening, January 21, at 7 p.m. High School and older middle school students are encouraged to attend. See you there!

Given what we know about the development of children, how can we imagine a healthful future with technology? What characterizes technology as a human creation, and what ethical and educational demands does it require?

Steve SagarinStephen Keith Sagarin, Ph.D., is Faculty Chair of the Berkshire Waldorf High School and Associate Professor of Waldorf Teacher Education at Sunbridge Institure. Dr. Sagarin is the former Editor of the Research Bulletin of the Research Institute for Waldorf Education. He has taught history of education at Teachers College and human development at the City University of New York. He is the author of The Story of Waldorf Education in the United States: Past, Present, and Future (SteinerBooks, 2011). Dr. Sagarin has a PhD. in history from Columbia University and a B.A. in art history and fine art from Princeton University. Dr. Sagarin has been a Waldorf teacher for most of his career, including twelve years at the Waldorf School of Garden City, NY, the high school from which he graduated.
